Before entering private practice, Lacey acquired nineteen years of clinical experience in addictions and behavioral health. Over her professional career she has worked in outpatient, community, school and residential settings.
Lacey has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2009 and is a Counseling Supervisor with the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling. She received her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling and her Bachelor’s in Human Services from the University of South Alabama. Lacey is a Master’s Addiction Counselor through NAADAC and is currently a member of the Alabama Counseling Association and NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals.
Lacey utilizes many different therapeutic modalities, including Solution-Focused, Empowerment, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral techniques. She approaches therapy from a holistic standpoint, helping clients identify the needs that relate to their emotional, psychological and relational health.
A therapeutic relationship can be a catalyst for change. By creating a non-judgmental environment, building on each client’s strengths and helping them develop better coping skills, Lacey helps clients manage their emotions more effectively, leading to improved self-esteem, stronger personal relationships and the ability to handle difficult life situations. Her mission is to create that environment by tailoring her approach to each client with unconditional reinforcement, focusing on their strengths, motivations and goals so they can recognize the possibilities for positive transformation in their lives.
